Help a dog in need by opening your heart and home to foster. Fostering saves lives!
Fostering is a temporary placement that helps the dog become better accustomed to living inside and interacting with the family. Fostering is crucial to the success of Dogs Deserve Better’s mission and can completely transform the life of the dog. We promise you, the love and care shown to rescued dogs will be given back to you exponentially.
Dogs Deserve Better takes care of all medical needs of the dog and will even provide supplies if needed (crates, food, leashes, etc.). All we ask is for love, patience, and understanding. Many of our dogs are quite shy and need time to adjust; being in a loving foster home is the perfect next step for them.
We need fosters all over the country to help us get more dogs off of chains, out of the cold and heat, out of abusive or neglectful situations, and into loving homes.
Many people say they could not handle having to say goodbye to a foster dog when they are adopted. We have many foster "failures" which lead to foster family adoptions (which is okay!), but it is even harder knowing a dog died on a chain, in a pen, out in the cold, then to know a dog was rescued and then adopted into a loving home. Not only does fostering save the dog being fostered, it opens room for another to be saved.
Please help us save even more dogs. You won't regret it. If you have questions regarding becoming a DDB Foster please contact Melissa@dogsdeservebetter.org or 757-357-9292. Thank you.
