Female | 8 yrs. | 55 lbs
Kasa came to us from one of our friends in South Carolina who helps dogs in her area that live in misery. She was bred continually for 8 years and was about to be shot out back by the owner before someone stepped in and saved her. Kasa has endured a lot of health problems and is being treated for severe heartworm but has obviously made great strides health wise and has been able to be spayed as she remained in constant heat. She does have some damage from the heart worm disease to her lungs and heart which will be permanent but can lead a good life. When spayed, a growth on her side was removed. It came back positive for Mast Cell grade 2 cancer. Although we were worried that it had spread within her body, her oncologist stated that the outcome of this type of cancer is not severe! Kasa can be adopted, but we feel a “foster to adoption” should happen due to making sure she gets the care needed while undergoing the heartworm treatment and periodic visits to vet for check-ups and when she comes up negative on her heartworm test which we hope would be within 6-9 months can make official… and of course, dependent on the results of findings on this final lab test…but all in all good news!
