What about hunting dogs?

Dogs Deserve Better

Hunter with dog

It’s an old wives tale that hunting dogs need to stay outside.

Here are links to a few online articles from hunting magazines:

*Note: Many breeders and handlers of Champion Hunting Dogs keep their dogs inside their homes. Nowhere have we found that abandoning a hunting dog on the end of a 24/7 tether improves hunting skills. Quite frankly, just the opposite, an excellent hunter needs work and training. Please remember, most laws will propose standards on kennels, but do not say you cannot kennel dogs outside or keep in fenced yards. We do want to promote a healthy, clean environment for the community and safety of pets and people, but we do not say strictly that a dog MUST live inside the home. (Though in every situation, it seems to be the best practice.) As for dogs being chained while with the hunter or during training or competition, laws do allow for dogs to be chained while the owner is present.
